BERKELI ATAYEV


Is the director of “Tebigy Kuwwat”, an enterprise of the public association “Nature Preserving Society of Turkmenistan”, representative of Aarhus Centre in Ashgabat. Has an experience in the state, civil, private, and international sectors. He has been working in the Civic sphere for about 15 years. Has extensive experience in coordinating national and regional projects in Turkmenistan in many areas, including ecology, culture, improving the lives of people with disabilities, socially vulnerable group of the population, youth, gender equality, volunteering, and media service. He is the author of innovative projects: Urgency of recycling of mercury-containing waste in Turkmenistan; Training of sign language interpreters with the subsequent creation of a 24-hour dispatch service in Turkmenistan for people with hearing impairments; Development of Ecological tourism in the aspect of preserving the natural and cultural environment in the mountain system of the Koytendag State Nature Reserve, etc.

At the same time he is the chairman of the PA “Guitarists Society”, a member of the board of the PA ” Nature Preserving Society of Turkmenistan”, the founder of the InAshgabat website, and the coordinator in Turkmenistan of the: Global Network of Civil Society Organizations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR), “Innovation for Change” Program/I4C Central Asian Hub and from February 2025 member of the Board of Governors (BoG) of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC). B.Atayev is the winner of the Central Asia competition “Amazing People Prize” – 2020 for the best civic initiative “InAshgabat website – a platform for civil society.”

Head of the Aarhus Centre of Turkmenistan at the “Tebigy Kuwwat” Public Association Enterprise, legal adviser to the “Tebigy Kuwwat”. Doctor of Law. Main field of activity is state, administrative, international and environmental laws. He has more than 30 years of academic and more than 10 years of teaching experience. Under his authorship more than 15 monographs and brochures, as well as 150 scientific articles in these branches of law have been published. Y. Kepbanov has extensive experience in international, regional and national projects in the field of ecology, climate change and sustainable development. He is actively involved in the drafting of environmental laws; thus, more than 15 laws and a large number of by-laws have been drafted with his participation. Mr. Kepbanov is a member of the editorial board of the journal “Ecological Culture and Environmental Protection”, a member of the Nature Preserving Society of Turkmenistan and the Regional Environmental Expert Network “Green Central Asia” (GREEN CA). For 10 years he worked in the country’s diplomatic service, holding senior positions. He has governmental awards.

Ph.D. works at the Aarhus Center in Ashgabat as a public relations consultant and is an expert on renewable energy sources.

For more than 5 years he headed the Department of Wind and Solar Complexes at the Institute of Solar Energy of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. He worked for 5 years as the chief engineer of the Scientific and Industrial Corporation “GYUN” of the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Turkmenistan, for 3 years as the Administrator of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, as the head of the laboratory of concentrating systems at the Scientific and Production Association “GYUN” of the Academy of Sciences for 13 years. G. Ovezmuradov – Water engineer, graduated from the drainage department of the Turkmen Agricultural University with a degree in “Hydraulic Engineer”, has an academic degree in the specialty “Reclamation and Irrigated Agriculture”. Has more than twenty years of experience in water management and agricultural organizations in the public and non-governmental sectors at various levels of responsibility. He has held various positions related to production, control, design, training and science in the field of water and land conservation, agricultural production. These activities have allowed him to gain experience and knowledge on how to better address water scarcity, increase land productivity and conserve natural resources for the Agricultural Sector, local communities and the environment. He has served and is a member of various commissions, foundations, working groups and legislative networks , production and technical, economic, scientific and educational issues in the field of agriculture, water and land resources, and the environment. G. Ovezmuradov successfully participated in the organization and implementation of a number of programs and projects, gaining experience in joint work with water management, agricultural and environmental structures at the national and regional levels, including a number of international and foreign agencies and institutions.

BERDYMYRAT OVEZMYRADOV

Ph.D. in Policy and Planning Science, is a Researcher at the Aarhus Centre of Turkmenistan near PAE “Tebigy Kuwwat”.

His interdisciplinary areas of research includes value chains, renewables, scientometrics, and business. Within research at the Aarhus Centre of Turkmenistan and the PAE “Tebigy Kuwwat”, Berdymyrat has focused on comparative studies of sustainable development in Central Asia. He published papers in the field of supply chain management, operations research, and educational technology. Berdymyrat has academic experience in industrial engineering and management sciences. He is a Guest Lecturer at

Transport and Telecommunication Institute in Riga and previously taught at the Turkmen Agricultural University. Berdymyrat also has industrial experience working in the manufacturing and logistics sectors.
