ES “Ynamly Egindesh” – Supporting Young Entrepreneurs in Rural Areas

In Turkmenistan, it has always been a strategic goal of the political course to create a spiritually rich, well-educated, intellectually and physically developed young generation that is true patriots of their country. This goal forms the very foundation of the country’s development in the epoch of the revival of the new era of powerful state.

As part of the implementation of these state goals, the “Ynamly Egindesh” Economic Society actively supports the development of the potential of young people and women living in rural areas of Mary and Akhal velayats. Recently, this organization has successfully conducted two seminars for residents of these regions. They were aimed at increasing participants’ knowledge in key areas such as:

• The legal basis for the establishment and registration of enterprises and the opening of their own business.

• Development of communication strategies using modern marketing tools, including digital marketing, direct sales and public relations (PR), etc.

A seminar on legislation and enterprise registration, which took place on August 1st, 2025, was led by Leyla Toilieva. She has extensive experience in business management and is a participant in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) administered by the US Embassy in Ashgabat. Through this program, L. Toiliyeva studied international best practices in management, familiarizing herself with the best practices of developed countries and innovative approaches from leading global companies and organizations.

The second seminar on the fundamentals of developing marketing communication strategies took place on August 2nd, 2021. It was hosted by Serdar Agayev, a candidate of economic sciences. S .Agayev, who graduated from the prestigious Fulbright American Program administered by the US Embassy in Ashgabat, shared with the attendees his in-depth knowledge and best practices for developing and implementing components of a promotional mix (marketing strategy) for businesses.

During both seminars, participants actively discussed key issues related to starting their own businesses, implementing their ideas, and developing effective marketing strategies. They were particularly interested in startup opportunities that could benefit rural residents. Some of the most discussed ideas included:

• Creating retail chains to sell products for schoolchildren in rural areas

• Developing a national handicraft business, specifically the production of traditional women’s handbags with embroidery

• Establishing floristry businesses and opening flower shops

• Providing various services in rural areas, ranging from household services to consulting.

In addition, the trainers shared with the participants the methods of conducting market analysis and marketing research. They emphasized that this is an essential step in creating a successful business. The trainers demonstrated how to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of a business idea, identify potential risks, and find innovative ways to grow.The participants also learned about effective communication methods, such as social media marketing (SMM), which will help them promote their projects successfully. This approach allows participants to not only dream about their businesses but also create realistic plans that can lead to their successful implementation.

The initiatives of the “Ynamly Egindesh” Economic Society play a significant role in the development of rural areas. By providing support for young entrepreneurs and women, this organization helps to create new jobs, expand economic opportunities, and improve living standards in these areas. The growth of small and medium-sized businesses in these regions not only strengthens the local economy but also contributes to the overall sustainable development of Turkmenistan.
