On June 14, 2024, an exhibition of products made from recycled materials was held at the French Institute in Ashgabat by “Young Naturalist” NGO and the “Design Plus” creative association.
The main objective of the competition is to draw attention to the problem of waste, to take a creative approach to recycling and to show the limitless possibilities of recycled materials.
About 50 residents from different parts of Turkmenistan took part in the competition with original and creative works created from unnecessary things: plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, paper, textiles and other reusable products.
A panel of judges, including representatives of the “Young Naturalist”, “Design Plus” organizations and environmental experts, carefully evaluated all the works and determined the winners in several categories:
“The most original idea”
“The most functional product”
“The most creative work”
“For contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage”
“Viewers’ choice”
Winners in each category received diplomas and memorable gifts. All participants were awarded certificates of participation. Leyli Shyhmadova, head of the “Young Naturalist” organization, said: “We are glad that our competition has aroused such great interest.” – This proves once again that people are not indifferent to environmental issues and are ready to create new reusable products from waste. The exhibition has become a true celebration of creativity and environmental responsibility. It showed the importance of caring for the environment, that real works of art can be created from waste. We hope that this event will help raise awareness of environmental issues, and we are grateful to the French Institute in Turkmenistan for their support and for creating the conditions to hold the competition.”
